at last, the quilt making begins!

Today was the perfect rainy day to finally start making a quilt.

I've been planning to make a version of Denyse Schmidt's flock of triangles quilt forever! I kept getting bogged down in the details of measurements, how many triangles to cut, and what fabric to make it out of. But yesterday I decided that I absolutely had to start, so I went through my scraps and stashes of fabric to see if there were patterns and colours that could make some sort of cohesive quilt. And there was! So the main repeating colour is the blue with the little arrows on it (which was a pair of curtains I bought at value village a looong time ago) and the other colours will be a combo of florals and solids in shades of purple, pink, blue, grey and pale brown.

Fingers crossed that it turns out nicely!

Merci! It is quilt city for sure, I know a bunch of people starting their very first quilt right now. It's funny.
