Ceramics please.

I know I don't have a job at this particular moment in time, and I probably shouldn't be thinking of spending my money on unnecessary things, but I'm a little tempted right now to sign up for pottery classes. The Dundas Valley School of Art offers a variety of art classes, including an introductory pottery class: "A soul-satisfying course in the fundamentals of pottery for all levels. Students will explore the hand-forming methods of clay, including pinch, coil, slab, and the potter's wheel. Students will hone their skills, transforming their own ideas into finished pottery". Its about $200 for the course, which runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-9:30pm, for the month of July. My grandma is a potter, and I'd love to learn how to use all of the tools she has, her wheel, her kiln, her glazes, etc.

These pieces are by etsy seller Cherie of CDBC. I want to make my own tumblers and bowls and vases. I loved handmade ceramics.

Hey Kate,
I just found your blog via White Elephant. Wanted to let you know that I took a few pottery courses at the DVSA, and I had absolutely no experience with pottery at all. Found the classes very rewarding, fun, interesting and relaxing. Your blog is great. Just saying.

Thanks Meg!!

I was so disappointed last summer when the class filled up before I could sign up, so I'm hoping this year I'll be able to take a class. It sounds really fun!
