my mini amateur ICFF 2010 tour

So I've been super busy the past few days planning our France/Belgium/Netherlands trip. We're leaving on Sunday. We just booked train tickets today, after a minor freak out about not leaving enough time to get eurorail passes in the mail. But its ok. FYI don't always assume a eurorail pass will be your cheapest bet. We booked all our train rides individually via each countries' website, and we saved probably $250.

ANYWAYS, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I was in NYC last week, so let's talk about that first. And specifically, let's talk about ICFF. It was pretty neat-o. I was semi-apprehensive, since the only other design convention I've really been to is Toronto's Interior Design Show, and that's alright, but so consumerist. This was more interesting by far. More cutting edge and design-y. So ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-check it out!

Great quilt and furniture from Shimna

Bobble hand queens!

Umbra's Oh Chairs, drawn on by various artists. Can't remember who did this one...

Cat house by Loyal Luxe. You have to go to their website. There are kittens playing in the house. Go. Now.

Budgie vase by Lladro. There were also budgie candle stick holders, mirrors, etc. I want.

Super adorable tree bookshelf by design artist shawnsoh

Valentina Gonzalez Wohler's Prickly Pair Chair

Now, back to searching for hostels. We leave in 3 days. Yikes! Any suggestions for cheap and nice hostels in Brussels, Brugges, or Amsterdam?
