Alone.

I've come across this video on other blogs a number of times over the past couple of weeks. I figured I'd post it here as well. I find it very inspiring, especially since I can be a bit of a wuss when it comes to doing things alone. I've also been in a relationship for almost 8 years, so I've gotten used to always having someone to do things with. I'm ok at being a hermit, but I'm sorta self conscious/shy, and that can impede my enjoyment of doing things by myself that I'd normally do with friends. Ah well. Practice makes perfect.

On another unrelated note, this morning I woke up (repeatedly) to Sookie meowing at me and gently poking me in the nose with her little paw. I kept flipping over and ignoring her, but she was persistent and I'm sure she nudged me at least 10 times, right on the nose everytime. In the end I eventually gave in and we played fetch. Silly kitty. I'm so glad we got her.

Tanya davis is a lovely lady from my home of halifax. She is just the same in person. I have been watching this video non stop since I came across it too since it's perfect anthem for getting used to a new town. Also her amazing poem/song "art" which is great to hear anytime you start doubting your studio practices.

I can imagine her poems/songs being great for motivating artists working alone. Very inspiring.
