Preserving tomatoes. On Wednesday I canned pasta sauce (with basil and swiss chard) and whole tomatoes with Amanda. On Thursday I canned salsa. And I still have some tomatoes left. Salsa and pasta sauce are very time consuming - so much peeling and seeding and chopping. Canning whole tomatoes is easiest, but it's nice having pasta sauce and salsa all ready to go, made entirely with fresh summer ingredients.
